    8-71 question
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Does anyone have the length (from Flexplate to 3"Drive Pulley)?
Installing new interior and want to leave enough room from front of motor. Going in Jet boat with Berkly. Thanks in advance

    Hey LBiR2
On my BBC with a "Blower Shop" set-up
    I measured 32 inches, maybe 32 & 1/4"
That was from Flexplate to front of lower crank blower pulley.
I did not include bellhousing cover in that measurement.
    Or...
The front of the pulley rides out about 8 & 1/4"
from the block itself . (where motor mounts would bolt to block)
Keep in mind that you may also be wanting to add a blower
"belt guard shroud" to protect hair, fingers etc. for
rear seat riders. That would add another inch or so
    in front of the pulleys.
I'd mount the seat after the motor is installed if you're
    wanting to get it exact.
    So... whatcha buildin'???

I really think it would be a better idea if you waited till after the 8-71 was installed just to make sure everything fits tits . I do not have a blower , and then again I dont know anything.

Emjay, Thanks for the info, Seats will be installed after motor but needed to get an idea so I can start building the interior. This is a 1972 eliminator, Taking out the 455 and going chevy, also re-design on the interior. But again thank you for the measurments, it is appreciated.

    Glad to help.
Also, do keep in mind that your berk pump
unless it's already been built up, will not take
all that HP you're gonna be making.
