So lets see, since the last time I took the boat out (3 weeks) I have:
    Fiberglassed in a new floor
bought and installed a 800CFM Holley with Mech. Secs.
    6 new stainless gauges
    All new wiring
Bought interior and modded it fit in my boat
    New Carpet
    New Gauge Senders
    Installed a one wire alt.
    Installed battery box
Whew! More money and time than I care to think about!
Here is the old interior, carpet was oil soaked, built the bench as a "hack job" for last summer. Oh yah, those gauges didn't work either ;-(

Here Is the new floor I installed and glassed in... old one was soooo rotten (some genuis glassed the breather holes at the back shut! floor was full of water)

This was the new interior when I got it home (I had to cut it in half and spread it 6 1/2", and I later glassed it all)

Here is the new carpet when I was laying it (And the bench hasn't been glassed yet)

    Oh yah, my question!
So when I was on the lake I had a chance to test out all the new stuff. She has a light stumble on accelleration, and will continue to rev through the stumble until it goes away. It is in the mid-range (3000-3600) and seems to go away when secondaries open. Also, 85% of the time, when I start the boat, it backfires through the carb. Timing issue?
The boat is turning 4850 rpm's with an A impeller in a berk. It runs 160-180 degrees and is fun to drive
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Louis
Oh yah, I also added a pressure regulator to the inlet on the pump......

Man you did a good job on the interior. Keep it up that boat is lookin real nice. As for your questions. My boat was stumblin when i would floor it at first. it ended up that my accelerator pump wasnt adjusted right. And my choke needed adjusting too. Im not sure how much this helps but you can check those two things. Once again the boat is looking good.

Well, I took the choke off, so thats not an issue. How do you adjust the accelerator pump? Thanks for the compliments!

sounds more like you have to play with the jets, how do your plugs look ? i'm told it gets a little tricky with a single carb tunnel ram

    Thanks!
I bought it with no motor, gauges, wiring, and interior. Lots of work!
    Thanks again,

If you had the choice to do it again, would you? or would you buy a boat already put together?

Thats easy..... Buy a turn key!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But I know this boat like the back of my hand, inside and out.
I have $4500 in it now, plus 300-400 hours labor. So at $60 an hour (Thats what I bill through my business for consulting) I have roughly $24000 in it. Geez, I don't like that.... well I enjoy the boat either way. I guess I should stick to the day job (I am obvouisly more efficient at fixing computers
