I met that guy and his wife at the LA Boat Show. "Sammy" is his name, cool guy. Said he smoked a motor at the Fall 2002 poker run then took it to Teague for complete rebuilds.
I said "it sucks when you run out of money beacuase everything keeps breaking"
His reply was..."money's not an issue, it just sucks when you break"

I think it will run mid 80's with the 500's. It is listed on Boat Trader online.

When I saw the motors in Havasu it was running the black blowers with the dual carb setup like the older merc sc's. I thought it said 800 sc on the top, but I could be wrong. Sounds like you are correct...I've never seen the boat up close, just passed him in the channel a couple of times...

I think it is a Cafe Racer (cig has changed the name of the 35 a few times), but they are both 35's. They went back to the name "mistress" for the 35. The copy is a conventional non stepped hull.
