you have to take the nuts out through the starter hole.
I'm putting the new tranny in the Explorer tomorrow with a new torque converter. When we pulled the old tranny out, there was no way to get any wrenches behind the flywheel to remove the TC, so its still there. Does anyone know of a trick to get this done? This is on a 95 Explorer. Yeah, its the same on that I was looking for a replacement a couple of months ago. Only took a month to get it back from the guy so we're more than ready.

Now there's a hell of an idea...THANKS!!!
How do I clear the codes and will I have to reprogram anything if I disconnect the battery?
make sure u flush the transmission cooler in the radiator real well...the make a flush u can spray in the lines.. then blow the lines out with compressed air.. or else u will have problems all over again in a very short time.. devil
not sure on the explorer models but most fords have a hole on the opposite side from the starter with a big rubber plug in it i learned the hard way found it after we had the motor out
