I'm in the same position! Any input would be great!!!!!
OK, I got the jet rebuild thing down pretty good; my new AT AA impeller has such a nice hole shot now that a 14 yr. old could (and did, yesterday) drive it right up onto the dock! Now I need advice on repairing a fairly deep 6" long scratch in the hull. The scratch starts shallow and ends deeper, but I don't think it actually penetrated the hull. I have repaired similar scratches/gouges in a fiberglass surfboard with epoxy paste. What is the right way to do it on the boat? Any downside to filling it with the epoxy?
Thanks in advance for the input. . .

Here is a pic of the scratch -

I climbed up inside this afternoon and there was no light showing through from inside.
I also talked to a friend who said seagoing epoxy putty would do the trick.
Since it doesn't appear to be a structural problem ( Whew!!)
I think I am going to just fill it with the epoxy and keep an eye on it.
That sucks!!! Did your kid freak out!!!??? :220v:

At first he just looked very scared, and I didn't say anything except "turn it off!!". He probably thought I was going to kill him, but I was more focused on getting the boat out of the water and on to the trailer b/c I didn't know if it was going to sink or what. After it checked out OK (and I put a piece of duct tape over it for good measure) he played it pretty low key and I basically gave him a pass on it since we are all new at this. He and my wife took it back out for another half hour or so while I worked on the trailer, so I guess he pulled it together. Probably glad he is alive!!
