Have any of you driven and towed with the Supercharged Tundra V8. I have towed my mini day cruiser with the V-8 and it does OK, but just OK, it really lags on the big grades. I was wondering if buying the supercharger was worth the $4500. I really like the Tundra. WHile I like the F-250s also, they are an awfully big truck and the wife is not to keen on that one. Thanks in advance..Joe

Well I haven't driven one but I do remember one blowing by me just out of Lake Shasta. I was doing about 60 mph up the hill after the bridge over the lake on the I-5. Well This Tacoma blew by me like I was standing still. The kicker, he was towing a 2002 Ski Nautique. All I could hear was the whine of the supercharger. I think he was racing his buddy in an Escalade as that also blew by me with another Ski nautique with supercharger screaming.

Sell that TOYota and buy a turbo diesel.Blow off your friends going up a nasty grade with the A/C on and cruise set at 70 while the temp guage isn't moving!!!560 ft/lbs of torque at 2000rpm baby!!!Gas engines are a thing of the past!!!

My brother has a Tundra with a TRD supercharger. It runs good. I have a F-150 with a 5.4 and he blows me away. If you have any questions e-mail me.

Exactly....Our new Excursion with the 6.0 PSD is awesome. The 7.3's I had were not bad, but the 6.0 has impressed me.
I owned several Toyota's when i was younger, but for towing buy a real truck (American) with a diesel.
Everybody always talks about how long a Toyota will last. Well I killed one in 80k miles becuase I actually used it. My buddy just sold his 99 F-350 PSD with 300k miles on it of Heavy towing coast to coast and it was still going strong. Just my .02.

No doubt that a diesel with gobs of torque is going to out pull any gas powered motor. It all depends on what your pulling. If you got a 38-42 foot cig, no doubt a diesel is absolutely required. But many gas motors pull most boats just fine.
And as for the Toyota Tundra, I have a 2000 V8 4X4 and it has 104K hard miles on it (with zero problems with it). I've towed my 5,500 pound 25 foot boat with it all over the place and it does a great job. Of course its not designed to tow 10,000 lb loads but its a fine truck for modest towing (its rated at 7,200). It runs like its brand new. Doesnt burn a drop of oil and has no noticiable drop in power at all. Its the best small block powered truck Ive ever owned so far. And its more American than the big three's comparable trucks......
