I just bought a new wrangler, the folks at work were amazed at how I was able to cold call and ask for the fleet manager and get the jeep for a little less than invoice price. The difference between the invoice and what the dealer pays is called "holdback" (profit). Anyone can call the fleet department and get a good deal without paying the commission to the sales department.

I have the local Chevy dealer looking for a specific truck for me. 03 Chevy 2500HD crewcab 4x4 short box with 8.1L engine. He found one in AZ in the color I wanted. He faxed me the complete option printout on this particular vehicle with all the codes listed for each option. Of course it only list the MSRP.
Last week I went to the Consumer Reports website and paid $12 for a new vehicle pricing report which also list the dealer holdbacks, incentives, dealer price and MSRP.
The Consumer Reports site actually gives the option to identify packages on the vehicle which is the way the window sticker breaks it down. The GM site listed above only let you price each indivual item. The GM site has an area for option packages but it didn't give any prices.
In any case the, the site listed above is cool and I hit you with a 5er. If you are serious and want the scoop to the penny check out
    Consumer Reports
The MSRP on this vehicle is $43,476. According to the report, GM has over $7,400 in markup when you take into account the incentives, rebates and holdbacks. Cost to the dealer is $36,074 with all the options. Where should I start with an offer price?
What do you guys think about the new bodystyle for Chevy? The frontend on the 03 kinda looks like an old lady with horned rimmed glasses to me.
What would be the difference in a GMC. Looks like you can get all the same options on the Sierra. Anyone have an opinion on the Chevy vs GMC trucks? The front looks better on the GMC.
I have an 01 F150 Supercrew that is gone on Monday. I'm tired of Ford. The 8.1 (496) is bigger and more powerful that the V10 from Ford. I bet that 8.1 will pass everything but a gas station!

I'm with ya. It looks like they built a bad ass truck and said "Oh shit, we forgot the front clip!!"

I own the 2002 HD2500 Diesel & I HATE the new frontend, grill (Jimmy), flat hood & non stepped front bumper. It looks Chevy wants all the SUV & trucks cookie cutter so they can reduce parts inventory.
