Got to agree with that, the down time sucks and seems to last way to long.
This last one really messed people up and probably lost a few regulars.
Here's a suggestion, leave the site how it is so we can post rather than the site going down for 10 hours here and 10 hours there so "changes" can be made. Out of all of the other boat forums I'm on, this site has BY FAR the greatest downtime percentage. I know that there are a few other sites out there that see their membership numbers increase when HB is down. Since the last time HB was down earlier this week, it seems like there isn't as many users on it..... Keep taking the site down and you'll lose users.
Just a suggestion and my .02

They'll be back, the other sites have few users and while interesting, don't have the volume. There 5000+ members here.
Suggestions....make it faster.
After you post a reply it takes a long time to wait for the "go to" button to come up, and back clicking 5 times is lame.
Question: Why does ***boat2 have 1000000000000001 posts? I don't believe it!!
Oh yeah, Free Beer!

I agree with BBT, let's leave it the way it is, could speed it up a little though!.. wink
The 100000000000001 posts is a glitch. The site just has not updated it's stats yet. I would re-compile them, but that would take the site offline and I dont want to do that. As far as the down time goes, I will not be taking the site offline much more. I will continue to upgrade the UBB software when needed, but that is usually at night. The latest down time was necessary to change servers. If we lost a few people, that is the price of progress. The new server will allow much more complex dynamic applications to be written and allow more content. That and it is almost twice as fast as the old one.
The site is fine, uploads are faster. when I upload a scanned image, 100DPI is as high as it will take. for size and quality I like to use 200DPI but that won't upload? any tips?
Screen resolution is 72 DPI. When going to print you can up the DPI (300 works well). When uploading to the web, scan at 200 dpi and then resize to 72 dpi and up the pixel dimensions around 640X480 should work well. When you scan at 200 dpi and reduce to 72 you will see the pixel dimensions go down. You can also just raise them to their original values again after converting to 72.
I really had all those posts! i rule
