This cam seems far too small for your goals (even for a hot 10:1 CR 460), I would be inclined to take a look at something like the Comp XM288H (244/254 @ .050 on 112 lsa) with the above recomended 750 cfm carbs. My guess is you will fall shy of 80 mph with that pee-shooter Lunati cam.

    hack job
trav that cam dose seem a bit on the small size it cant be much bigger than what you are running now? i believe you have a isky mega 278 right? that would be right around the same lift. i would look in to the roller set up like others have said take it from me iam going to be going that way this winter . hell i have a claysmith 310 duration 645 lift . solid cam up if you want that insted. lol

I ran these 2 Solid Roller cams.
    Part # Grind Adv. Dur. Int/Exh Dur .050 Int/Exh Lift Int/Exh Lobe
    CCA-34-700-9 280AR 280/280 238/238 .634/.634 110 2500-6000
    CCA-34-710-9 300AR 300/300 257/257 .663/.663 110 3200-6500
I had the smaller one in a 429, sounded like a kitten purring, almost no notice of a big cam, but it turned 82.3 mph. The bigger one is the one that I am currently running in a 460 and its sounds Crackly. This pushes my Porpoising pig to 85mph!!
If you decied to actually run a solid roller no matter what brand, DO NOT SKIMP on the valve train. I used all Comp Cams stuff including there Stainless Rockers. I think Crower makes a good set also. The last thing that you want to happen is a broken rocker arm when your wide open!!!

    Travis,
Give the spec over to who ever is assisting with the parts selection and have them give you a ballpark HP/CI ratio at 5600rpm based on your proposed setup. If that number doesn't equal over 600hp I think 80 is going to be a tough nut to crack.
There are probably better flat tappet profiles available, but a roller would be the better setup (albeit at a higher cost) One other thing, it shouldn't cost Lunati anything extra to do a customer spec'd grind over a shelf model.
I want to see you reach your goals, so make sure that the parts combo you are looking at will get you to where you need to be from a HP standpoint.
Since Jack and Dave have a lot of data on Bandy's boat and its the same hull and pump setup that you will have, I would ask Jack how much HP you're gonna need to spin that B to get to 80 minimum, then build accordingly.
Feel free to call me if you have any other questions bud.
    Take care,
    Chris
