Are we heading toward this... or are we already there?

    A few particularly poiniant bits:
These young people in France really believe that they should be able to be hired at their tender ages and that a company must not be allowed to fire them from their first day at work (except "for cause," which, as we are learning in America, is increasingly difficult to establish).
Socialism teaches its citizens to expect everything, even if they contribute nothing.
Socialism teaches its citizens that they have a plethora of rights and few corresponding obligations -- except to be taxed.
Under socialism, one is not only liberated from having to take care of oneself; one is also liberated from having to take care of others. The state will take care of me and of everybody else.
Similarly, in the great litmus test of moral acuity -- the Middle East -- socialist countries and parties virtually all line up behind the Palestinians. They do so either out of moral confusion or out of cowardice -- it takes a lot more courage to support Israel than to support the Palestinians and the whole Muslim world.
The socialist idea sounded altruistic to those who began it, and it sounds altruistic to the naive who believe in it today. In practice, however, it creates self-centered individuals and a narcissistic society.

What bothers me is that over 500k illegals were out protesting a restriction that would make stronger penalties for being or hiring illegals. Now brownass 472 would argue that there is no evidence that they are illegals, but the likelyhood that they are illegal is high. There was mentioned that areas of Alanta was brought to its knees by boycotts over restrictions. My concern is that we will let illegals dictate legislation by using the tactics the french unions do. Let's face it, Caesar Chavez is the patron saint of the illegals.

The harder you hit them with a stick, the more english you can get out of them.
I believe that as a country we need to come to the realization that the closest we come to giving any benefits to illegals is a free bus ride home. This applies to school, medical, food, housing, drivers license or anything else.
I also like the idea that we actively look for illegals on job sites, everytime we find one who has worked illegally for six months out of the last year we issue a green card to them, then find two people on our welfare system and send them to mexico. ..
Enough is enough. I know that we are a "melting pot", but we are also a country of laws, just because they didn't get caught breaking the law on the way here doesn't mean they should be exempt from us enforcing these laws and sending them home. I'll bet if blown and all of the other liberal whiney ass scum in this country (I know you do not call yourself liberal blown, but your posts give you away) were charged with identifying themselves so that they could be billed directly for the medical and other expenses incurred in this country by the illegals they would quickly decide that they should be sent back as well. Just burns my ass that the government takes money by force from me to give to people that are not here legally.
