Thread: Jet Boat Hull ID

Anyone know what year they started to require HID on Jet boats. I've sanded it down from end to end and still no sign of any numbers. I used the serial number off the transom adaptor to register it. Just curious.
Say do I get senior status after 100 posts?

1972 should be on the transom in the upper righthand corner if it was made after 72

Sound about right. The serial number on the pump has a "70" in it, so I registered it as a 1970 Beisemeyer SS. Also the guy I bought it from said this style hull was build in the late 60's early 70's.
    Thanks

This is what I found when I was doing the same thing,
"All vessels manufactured after 1972 are required by Federal Law to have a hull identification number affixed to the vessel by the manufacturer. This 12 digit number is normally located on the outside stern of the vessel on the right side, below the gunwale. This number must be included on the registration certificate and application for registration."
Didn't help me any but now I know.
