Is anyone running a 350 Magnum on a 1.32:1 Alpha drive? The original was a 1.5:1, but its kinda shot. Can I get away with the 1.32 and less pitch or should I be looking into regearing the 1.32?

What RPMs and pitch were you running before?
The lower gears mean the prop will be turning faster...it may not be a big deal at slower speeds.

The boat was a salvage job. I've never seen it run. Its a 89' Wellcraft Elite 220. The book says 4400-4600 with a stock plant. Not sure what the top speed might have been...

I dont know a whole lot about the alphas.i have one but its a 1.50 ratio w/ a 350 mag(1993).But have heard that the 1.32 ratio was used with big blocks(310 hp) a while back. And some people had problems getting out of gear at idle if it was a bit on the high side.
