Installed the hydromotive cone on my bravo 1.
Since the blowout of the bravo is around
80 m.p.h. I did`t notice anything. Maybe
someday soon it will be worth it.
I am courious, do nose cones really do anything? I am tired of bolt on performance things that make claims and don't produce. Does anyone have any before and after experience with nose cones? Does the Hydromotive or EMI have better performance? Are they worth the hundred bucks?

The purpose ot a nosecone is to stop the drive blow-out. It won't give you any speed, it will just make sure you don't loose control of your boat. Bravo's blow-out is a little over 90 mph, under that speed you don't need one, it will be just cosmetic. Whatever the brand you install, you have to be very touchy when fitting it on your drive. A badly installed nosecone can cost you speed and the blow-out situation can even be worst.

Thanks for correcting me on bravo blowout.
My drive is an 88 model. Is there a change
in the newer bravo,s stock nose?
slowride,
I'll contact my connections at Merc. and I'll request more details about blow-out in relation with drive's generations. I know for sure that there is some difference depending on the model but I don't remember all the details. Give me a few days and I'll be back to you.
Thanks ponponracing
hard to believe that so many years have gone
by since I bought my boat. still seems like
it`s new to me.
Thanks for the answers. You guys have been very helpful.
