I used to use Glyptal from GE or Rustoleum until it started to come off on one of my blocks, after that I don't use anything on the inside!.. eek!
What works best?

Not worth it. Paint comes off and spun bearing is next.
Polish the inside of the block.
Yeah it does, I was lucky, I found out before it happened when I decided it was time to look at things!.
OK, what about valley screens? Love 'em or hate 'em? On the next Jerry Springer.
Valley screens?, you better make damn sure the block is clean so the epoxy sticks!.. eek!

Spend the time like I did ..polish the entire valley.Looks like chrome. No problem with oil return and no worries about paint flaking off.I have had screened valleys for 3 years and no problems with it letting go.BUT you are so correct it better be spotless when you apply the epoxy or it does come off.Mine is on with good old JB weld...Pre cleaned with brake cleaner
