Thread: carb problems

    Ok heres the deal. I just rebuilt my holley 1850's on my tunnel ram due to water being in my gas tanks. I went through both of them and cleaned them up. I put them on my olds and fired her up. Next thing I saw larg amounts of gas pouring out of the top. What would cause this. i think I assembled them right its been a while since i went through a carb. i know someone has an explanation for this situation. help a brotha out.

    your float leavel is too high letting fuel continuously into the float bowl and then coming out the vent in the carb

    I didnt even think about that. I am still high from all the carb cleaner and dip

    Also check to see that the needle and seat are clean and workin properly

    Crap stuck in needle....
    Bad float....
    Too much fuel pressure....
    Or you drank to much beer during the install and baseline tune

    i think it was the beer. that or the 151 he was sipping on

    I will check those things today after work.
    It couldnt have been the 151 and coke unless it was still in the bloodstream from saturday Maybe it could have been since I drank alot of it saturday night
