Thread: Optima battery bracket

I'm thinking of upgrading my two 6 volt golf cart batteries to a single Optima.
Does someone make a reasonably priced bracket for the Optima? I've got a red top that I need to hold down in my boat.

    I'd say that's reasonable. Thanks.

    You're welcome.
You do know that's US dollars (http://www.eddiemarine.com/cart/deta...1&CategoryID=6), right?

    US Dollars? Oh. http://www.havasubarney.com/forums/h...ticons/huh.gif
Hey, that's just the top cover. The Eddie battery box is 100 bucks.

At first I was wondering why it was so much cheaper than the Rex. It looks nicer than the Rex box, though. I guess that's in the eye of the beholder.

I would be affraid of getting a short on that Eddie Box. Go with Mike (Rex). He's a way cooler guy and you won't have to worry about shorting out on that billet top.

I bought mine from Teague without the "Teague" logo for $155 a piece (includes top billet step). I believe the Teague battery box steps are a little more sturdier then the Rex and Eddie Marine ones since the top step is supported by 4 "spacers" instead of Eddie Marine's and Rex's two spacers on each end.
Oh yeah, paid $155 each out the door with no tax and free shipping. Had it sent to my address in AZ.

Check Rex's catalog......oh nevermind, I forgot it's still be "printed".

I'm really not in the market for a 100+ US dollar battery box of any make. I think I'll just cook up a redneck bracket instead and not let people look in my bilge.
    Thanks, guys.

Prior to my billet holddowns, I used just the regular $14 plastic ones from West Marine to hold down my Optimas.

I'm too cheap too. This one runs less than $50 if I remember right. Its from GIL. I use the all composite ones. I have dual Optimas and have had no problems in 4 years. Call and ask which one works with the Optima.
