Huffpower is correct. Easyoff is the way to go, just follow his instructions and you should be fine!!!

I remove a name last year. It was fricken Huge. I started with Acetone but most of the paint was way too thick. I ended up wet sanding most of it off. I started with 600 grit and work up to 1000 grit then acetone, after the acetone a rubbing compound, to a cleaning wax, to a straight wax. After it was all done it looked great. It just took me 10 hours to get is all off. The name went from grab handle to grab handle up on top of the deck

Oven cleaner works. Try that first, clean up with acetone.

We would first scrape it off with a plastic putty knife or something else that we would make. (usually from the plastic from the windshields. It has to be hard.) Don't worry it won't screw up the gelcoat. It will come right off. Just use some acetone to clean up the paint residue, buff to a nice glossy shine, and all done.

This is exactly how I was told to remove it, by the builder.
