I'm currently running 20-50 Castrol GTX... If I'm only boating in hot weather (Nevada/Arizona) is a straight weight oil better...say 30 or 40???

This seems to be a matter of preference here. I been using Castrol GTX for over 20 years in all my vehicles with no problems. In my race motors, I've used 20/50 and straight 40wt and not seen any difference in wear whatsoever!...
