I need some pics of how your seats are bolted into your boats. Actually I need some pics of your interior with the seats removed. I am going to fab up and glass in some seat supports between the stringer and side of the boat to bolt my seats to. If anybody has pics, I would appreciate them. Right now they just rest in place on some cheesy plywood supports with a couple of screws. You can see them here next to the stringers. Thanks in advance.http://www.hotboatpics.com/pics/data...oist_1-med.JPG

    MP,
My seats are done similary to yours there. However, my boat has the plywood supports glassed in. Yours don't appear to be glassed in. I actually have lots of pictures of my boat without the interior. The only thing is the pictures are at home and I'm at work. I'll try and remember to post some tonight or tomorrow. You may want to send me an email or pm to help me remember.

    MP,
Sent a pm to you, but I'll post here too in case you don't check your pm's. I posted 6 photos in the image center. Search for "Nubbs" and you should see them. I'd put them in the post, but they would take too much time to load. PM me if you got any more questions. I'll be at elsinore tomorrow, so I probably won't be checking my pm's till the evening. Good luck.

This is the way I mounted my seats. Aluminum through bolted to the stingers. I'm lousy with fiberglass and found this to be a lightweight, inexpensive, and sturdy solution. No lag bolts. The aluminum is through bolted to the stringers and the seats bolt to the aluminum............nice n and solid. When the seat's in place, you can't see any of this substructure stuff. It's all completely hidden.

As an added bonus I also bolted the top of the bulkhead to the aluminum.
Smaller ones on the outboard stringers.

Front seat. Once again you can't see any of this stuff unless you get down on the floor (like I did when I snapped the photo).

Last time I tried to fiberglass something I had that crap in my hair, under my armpits and accidently glassed my ass to my elbow.

Nubbs, thanks for the pics!!! I now have some ideas on how to improve my origional design.
Squirtcha, nice work!!! My other idea was AL similar to what you did. I was figuring the easiest way would be to through bolt a frame to the stringer. Got the idea from my motor mounts. Thanks for the pics they will help me greatly. Now I need to decide on AL or glssing in the wood?????

Have Wrightnow post some photos of his boat on Monday (he just pulled into Big River a few minutes ago) he has alum. plates that mount to the stringers and they do the job.

No rot with the aluminum. Of course properly resin coated wood will last for years too I suppose.
