10-71 blown 540 will make that power on pump gas.

Looking at buying a Hp500EFI long block minus the injection. What kind of power can you make with a gm 502 motor with blower, intercooler, dual carbs cam change,..?
Is it worth it to buy this motor for 2500 or start assembling a new motor. Would like to get 900 hp on pump gas.
What would be the ideal set up to get 900-1000 hp?

Hey info, a few questions, why does the pan rail have three holes tapped in groups, also why main bolts and not studs???
The Dart block will take a few different types of pans.
Those bolts and caps are brand new and strong enough as is. It is not a race engine. It is a pump gas low RPM deal.
So what would you think about building a blown motor similar to what you are doing and just replacing the head and main bolts and not using studs?
What can I make out of the 502 long block?
BL, how many hours are on this motor? $2500 seems like a decent price and should leave you plenty of money to build with....

What can I make out of the 502 long block? That's the tough part, answer is not much will be usable if you're looking to make upwards of 1000hp like you said earlier. You could use the block and the crank, well actually not even the crank if you want to build a 540 or bigger. The stock heads would have to be heavily modified or replaced altogether. I think you'd be better off starting with a good tall deck block (like a Big-M, around $1850) and building with custom parts. There's just no cheap way to make 1000hp!

Probably max 700hp out of stock long block with 1071/dual carbs/intercooler, etc.
Ideally to make SC'd with your example of 900-1000, min. 540ci, 8:1 compression, 10lbs. of boost, intercooled, aluminum heads such as Dart Pro Ones, Brodix, AFR's., better rods, crank, etc. more aggressive camshaft, large oil pan, large oil cooler, and the block will still be stressed in that area. No real advantage to starting with 500HP long block although you could use the gold crane rockers.

Maybe its not such a great deal after all. I want atleast 850 as its going to go in a 21-22 daytona for the lady so she will leave mine alone. Just trying to work out project costs so I can figure out the budjet.
