What a shame to remove the engine from a perfectly good boat. It has now been violated.

One very small tree stump and Mrs. Infomaniac's Ultra did not mix well. Did not do this last wekend but spent two days of the weekend repairing it. Insurance estimate $5,987.00
Gimble ring, Gimble Bell, trim cylinder and hoses, prop bent, drive upper housing broke, exhaust bellows.
This pic during repair.

What a pain to remove the engine and split the transom hardware halves just to remove the nut from the top of the gimble ring top pin.
No big chore as long as the shade tree is still standing outside the Marine Assault Engine Factory.
Done deal and had it out yesterday. All is well.
You Okies really are "shadetree mechanics".
Sorry to hear of the damage.
PS- what's a "tree stump"?
Wow, I hope ours isn't that expensive.....Scream was saying that our engine "goes up" ? so hopefully no drive shaft problems.....
Sorry for your troubles....
Info, do you want me to Alumiweld that housing up for you? I just got this kit and all of my scrap aluminum will soon be a single monolithic piece.
I could alumiweld that bellows too, if you like.

That would be "Rock" Where you guys boat.
Good as new now. Did not even scratch the boat. Wood is a bit softer that stone.
