Thread: While we are on the subject of EFI

I was able to machine my bugcatcatcher adapter plate for my 8-71 EFI project. I did most of it on my manual Bridgeport, however the center holes were done on my buddies CNC machine because I needed to radius around the center bolt holes in order to keep the side walls to .625". This will allow me to cut the pockets for bosch style injectors and the pintle will protude just a tad (if the walls were thicker then the injector pintles would not protrude correctly). Next up, cutting the injector pockets and machining the fuel rail stock. Anybody have any ideas for fuel rail stand offs. I have a couple but I would like to hear from others. I know I could have bought this plate from BDS but I wanted to make it myself cause I can.

Are you making your own fuel rails or buying a length of the stock ?
The material I had just needed to be tapped for 3/8" NPT on the ends. My fuel rail material was a D shape as viewed from the end.
The hole for the fuel was off center enough to allow for two 1/4" holes drilled next to it and that's what I mounted it with. I just came off the center manifold mounting bolts with a 1/4 x 4 alum plate that lapped alongside the fuel rail. You could do something similar with a plate mounted off your injector block.

I have the biggest rail stock I could get from Ross Machine. D-shaped. That was one of my ideas as well. Thanks Mark.
