Does anybody know the gear ratio in the outdrive of the 260 Venom that is featured in the current issue of Hot Boat?

If you run the number with 1.25 @ 5600 32p @ 14% slip = 116.8 mph or 1.36 @5600 32p @ 6 % slip = 117.3 and that is what the article said it ran with to the tee. But 6% slip is hard to beleive don't ya think. So i maybe it has 1.30 gears.

Good analysis of it. It must be a 1.25. 14% slip is about right for bad conditions (flat water). The boat should do 10% slip or a bit less in good conditions.
I have similar power and the same outdrive/gear as this boat. One day Riverliver and I put the 32 pitch prop on and went out for a speed pass. The water was crap. Dead glass. I think we did about 116mph at 5600rpm. The boat just never took a good set so we didn't make another try. Theses numbers and conditions are very similar to the Cobra in the mag.
