I was planning to gel-coat the floor of my boat also and make snap-in carpet. any tips?
propless, you can make sharp bends with the 40 OZ. carpet no problem. Most new boat dealers apply the carpet using industrial contact cement. The easiest way to apply it is with a 2 1/2 gallon glue pot(paint tank). You can look at Craftsman tools online, part #16102 under spray guns to see what I'm talking about.
If you decide to do it yourself,I can give you some pointers to help you out.

Have a professional do your gelcoat. If you are around the west coast try Havasu Barney.
Ratso, I think your on the right track and your providing good info. But what about the guy on a budget? I'm thinkin "peel & stick" tile from the local Do-It center. Lots of colors and patterns to choose from and cleans easy with a little mop n glo. Whadda think LDFTRBT
You are joking, right???
