Appears to be a back cut, but I'd like to hear some details...
5 deg backcut and about .300 thicker to lower the plate a little more. Biting edge will be a little lower too. Just gonna give it a try once I get the boat back together. There is enough meat to keep making it smaller till it is nearly the same as the one on the boat already. Liberty's run real flat to begin, but I figured I might as well try it and see what happens. But I was told by the prior owner .....Don't move anything! :rollside:
Oldsquirt, I probably should have used a ball end mill to fillet the back cut, but at that time I just figured I'd use the die grinder. Gonna do the same for the opposite side of the shoe. Front edge is square to start w/ at this time (no curve). Those guys up north seem to be doing just fine w/ some stuff that down here is not the norm. This will also close off the intake a little. I can always make adjustments (put the curve back in or ?) to it later. :boxed:
